What a wild ride this year has been! It’s hard to believe we are less than two days away from 2014! I am so excited for everything this New Year will bring for both of us.
I’m excited to see you reach a whole new level of success this year. Do you understand that? I really do believe in you, and I can’t wait to watch your family, your team, your staff and your clients succeed this year!
Whether you already have goals and plans for the New Year or not, God has something to say about the next year of your life. He really cares about your plans, and He wants you to succeed. Not only does He want you to succeed, but He actually tells you exactly HOW!
Don’t wait for 2014, start today!
It’s not the New Year quite yet, but there’s no reason you can’t start working toward your goals right now. Outrageous success is waiting for you…don’t put it off for another day!
So what is God saying about your 2014 plans? Well, He has a LOT to say, but I just want to share 3 of them right now. Be sure to join me this Wednesday night – that’s right, New Year’s Day – for the rest, because there’s no way I could fit it all in here!
- Commit your works to the Lord:
Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established. (Proverbs 16:3)
WOW! It doesn’t get much simpler than that! Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will succeed.
You have these goals and plans – you want to pay off your debt, start a business, grow your existing business, get a new job, get promoted in your job, go on a long-awaited vacation, feed a thousand orphans this year, or even to have more time to spend with your family.
Commit these things to the Lord! Commit your work to the Lord, and He will help you reach your goals.
- Seek wise counsel:
Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed. (Proverbs 15:22)
In 2014, you need to surround yourself with people who will speak into your life. You must have people who you can call and say, "Hey, this is what I’m thinking about. This is what I’d like to do. This is what God is doing in my life. Would you pray with me and for me about this?" And give those people the freedom to tell you exactly what they think, whether they agree with you or not.
Why are people like this so important? Because without wise counsel, your plans will be frustrated. However, as it says in Proverbs 15:22, with many counselors your plans will succeed.
If you don’t have people in your life who will hold you accountable and speak positive life and give you guidance, ask God for them!
Back in 2000, we moved out of the city and up into the mountains. I asked the Lord to send me a new friend. I asked for someone who wouldn’t need anything from me, but someone who would allow us to be mutually encouraging toward each other. I asked for someone who wouldn’t be afraid to speak into my life and hold me accountable.
After only a couple of months, God sent me the kind of friend I asked for. We held each other accountable and we spoke freely into each other’s lives. She is one of my very dear friends and she is still one of those wise counselors in my life.
It’s very clear – God wants you to have people in your life to speak wisdom and to help you accomplish your goals. Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.
- Work diligently:
The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty. (Proverbs 21:5)
Are you diligent? Are you diligent with your spouse? Are you diligent with your kids? Are you diligent at work? Are you diligent with your health? Are you diligent with your relationships?
The plans of the diligent will lead surely to advantage. Who are the ones who get promoted in their jobs? Those who work diligently. Who attracts more clients in their businesses? Those who work diligently. Who has great, healthy marriages and families? Those who are diligent.
If you are hasty, not taking care to do a great job, you will lead yourself into poverty. So this year, God is telling you to work diligently, and you will succeed.
I want to see your marriage and your children be abundantly blessed. I want to see your business grow. I want to see you get crazy raises and promotions in your job. I want to see you become totally independent financially.
I’m looking forward to hearing your story one year from today, as you tell me about the triumphs and victories you’ve had in 2014. Yes, that’s how much I believe in you!
I’m so blessed you and I get to walk through this next year together, and just can’t wait to celebrate with you!
