October 6 Friday Favorites – Behind The Scenes At DaniJohnson.com
TGIF…and welcome to our new weekly “Friday Favorites!” Join us for an insider’s look at what made us laugh, cry and proud THIS week…and WHY we love what we do!
Happy Wednesday! I want to share a message of faith today to help get you through the rest of the week. You see, we all need a daily dose of faith. What you feed will flourish and what you neglect will die. If you want your faith to grow stronger and flourish, you have to feed it daily!
He is the one who builds our strength and our faith. A great example of this is Elijah! So, let’s spend a few minutes talking about Elijah, a man who massively challenges my faith and a man whose life I adore studying from the Bible.
“The word of the Lord came to him, saying, ‘Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. It shall be that you will drink of the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there.’ So he went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. “ (1 Kings 17:2-5)
The Lord instructs Elijah to hide by a brook and sends ravens to bring him food. Sounds crazy, right? Think about a time in your life you worried about money, paying rent, bills or even had to skimp on groceries.
God is the ultimate provider! Your worry and stress do nothing but push away God’s miraculous provisions. Your faith makes room for his provision in great abundance.
“It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.” (1 Kings 17:7). The stream dried up due to Israel’s rebellion, one wicked king after another worshipping other gods, forsaking their God who faithfully blessed them.
But while Israel saw no rain, God provided for Elijah even in the midst of that judgment, because he kept faithful to the Lord.
You see, famines happen. Economic downturns happen. When our government is not faithful with money, there will be repercussions, dry seasons and famine. Do you want to be part of the many suffering because of their lack of faith and living in rebellion?
Or are you going to walk in the life of the faithful? God is the same today as He was yesterday and His provision for the faithful never ceases. When you’re in a dry creek, bed it’s because you got yourself there! And the worst part is, you hide your fault and your lack of faith behind a world of excuses. It’s always the government’s fault, your parents, how you were raised or the town you live in!
If you want to know why you’re really in a tight spot or a dry season, try asking the Ultimate Provider. Ask God, He will tell you. And if you are searching for provisions, start feeding your faith! Remind yourself of Elijah and how God provided for him.
I hope today’s message deposited faith into your spirit. Tell me about a time you’ve been in a dry season and the Lord provided for you. Leave me a comment and don’t forget to Like and Share this spiritual message with your friends and family.
In great faith,

Think of times in your life when quitting was just NOT an option….you simply refused to see the downside, because you were SO focused on finding solutions – and THAT level of commitment leads to success!
Sure, it may be a little odd to talk about goals and New Year’s Resolutions in June. But too many people get off-track and then never reach their goals…and I don’t want that to be YOU!
