6 Keys to Breaking the Poverty Mindset
It’s all in the mind, they say – and on some level, they’re absolutely correct. Habits formed in your mind have kept you from financial success in life – so […]
Good morning! Are you one of the 48% of Americans who dreams of becoming an entrepreneur? That number, coming from Business News Daily seems pretty high, doesn’t it? Especially considering only 13% of Americans actually are entrepreneurs.
Maybe this has been a goal in your life for many years and you just don’t know how to make it happen. So many people dream of freedom in their career and being their own boss, but are scared to try it or think they don’t have the means to get it done. Let’s spend just a few minutes and discuss how you can make this dream a reality.
“Fox Business” reports business start-ups are at an all-time low, meaning now is the perfect time to become an entrepreneur. There is a huge need for this in our country… right now! “But Dani, who wants to start a business in this economy?” I understand your fears and excuses you’ve got fixed in your mind. And some are very legitimate! Six in ten business owners say running a business is harder today than ever before, not only due to the economy, but because they also face the challenges of new technology and increased competition.
Yet, “Fox Business” writer David Mielach said, “Despite all the challenges small businesses have faced in the past five years, seven out of ten entrepreneurs say they would start their businesses all over again.” Why? Because the benefits of creating your own business are HUGE!
So, let’s walk through a few steps to make your entrepreneurial dreams happen.
Step 1: Find something to market or sell. You have to find a need in your community, circle of influence, wherever. Essentially, what are you going to sell?
Step 2: Outline what you need to get your business going. Maybe you just need a phone and your laptop. Go beyond that – how much money do you need to make before you can quit your current job? How many hours do you want to work?
Step 3: Break it into smaller goals. What could help you to get just one step closer to making this a reality TODAY? Setting up your business email? List smaller goals and figure out what you can accomplish in the short term to make it more manageable.
Step 4: Continue to increase your skill sets, even after you have gotten off the ground!
When I started my first business, all I had was a payphone and some handwritten flyers. But I was also homeless with little luxury for the option to fail. If you have a job right now, you already have a safety net! At this point, the only thing standing in your way is YOU.
If that sounds exciting to you, you should check out my First Steps To Success live event. You will spend 3 days immersed in a like-minded community of ambitious entrepreneurs, professionals, and other high flyers that will grow your network and set you on the path to tremendous professional and personal growth. Time. HA… what’s that?
Have you ever felt like a wind-up toy? Do you wake up, do what’s required of you at work, come home and wait for the next day?
