“Hump Day” may be here, but the week is far from over! You still might have big plans, big goals to accomplish or big fun on the horizon. Whatever you have planned, I hope it involves turning the helm over to the ultimate captain!
You see, I believe God has huge plans for you this year. I think this is YOUR year to see big things happen. But you and I both know, sometimes God’s plan for you is not exactly what you had planned for you… am I right? Or you may discover the path to those plans is not what you ever thought it would be! Let His experienced guidance fill your sails and chart your course for success.
Stop Waiting To Start Achieving
It’s a new season and still early enough in the year to accomplish all you set out to do. If you’ve fallen behind on your goals, it isn’t too late to turn it all around.
Outrageous success is waiting for you – you just have to stop putting it off for one more day.
The Bible clearly tells us, “Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3) You might want to increase sales this season, help the orphans, clean out the garage or lose a few pounds. But if you are looking for the “how” – look no further than the wisest counselor of all!
If you commit everything you do to the Lord, He will guide your steps. “The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
If you are struggling to succeed or to make progress, you might want to look at the path you are following. Often times, especially if you have achieved success before, you get a little cocky and think you can map out the way alone. Meanwhile, you might be ignoring the route God has set before you! “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.” (Proverbs 16:1)
Another thing to consider: the motive behind your goals. This is important, because you might not have thought about it or maybe you thought it had no relevance. If your goals are seeded from jealously, pride, greed, revenge or a whole other mess of dark places, you might get hit by a pretty forceful headwind on your journey. “Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the Lord, and whose deeds are done in a dark place, and they say, ‘Who sees us?’ or ‘Who knows us?'” (Isaiah 25:1)
You will not reap good fruit from these goals! EVER! This type of goal will lead you down the path of evil, straight to temptation, and onto the exit ramp straight to sin. “But the noble man devises noble plans; and by noble plans he stands.” (Isaiah 32:8) Ask yourself, what is the motive behind each goal? Is it to upstage another person? Is it to gain what another person has?
Be honest with yourself about why you want to accomplish these goals. If you can discover why your heart desires something, you might just discover why you are running into so many roadblocks.
