What Financial Future Are You Planting?
Have you ever planted red pepper seeds and been surprised when you don’t get strawberries? You might be thinking, “No way, Dani!” I hate to say it, but you might […]
Today’s message is short and simple, but extremely important.
You see, it’s easy to get caught-up in our daily lives and forget to be grateful. Our society is so busy running back-and-forth from one thing to another, taking kids to their various activities, keeping up the family calendar and working hard on the job. We get so wrapped up in the day-to-day busy-ness, we don’t slow down enough to take time to reflect on our blessings.
Think about it! When was the last time you sat down and really thought about what you’re thankful for? When was the last time your family went around the dinner table and said three things each person is grateful for? And Thanksgiving doesn’t count!
Sometimes things can be just plain HARD and you don’t necessarily feel grateful. Everyone experiences tough times – it’s part of life! But you may wonder WHY it’s so important to make gratitude part of your daily life!
Let’s face it, sometimes you just have to FIND things to be grateful for! The air you breathe, the clean water available to drink, the food in your kitchen, the warm home you live in, the friends and family surrounding you, the opportunities you have in front of you, your business or career, the fact you’re able to learn new skills and strategies to advance in every area of your life. There are so many things to be grateful for!
Gratitude is good for you! In fact, studies have shown when you deliberately cultivate gratitude, it increases your overall happiness, energy level, optimism and empathy. Bottom line – it makes you FEEL good! And, come on… everyone wants to feel good!
I have encouraged my clients around the world to do a specific exercise for years and you’d be shocked by some of the resulting stories, just from following these simple instructions. So I’m giving you this homework assignment – and be sure to complete it! (I’ll be checking!)
Start by leaving me a comment below, with at least five things you are grateful for! It’ll only take two minutes, but have a huge impact on your entire life!
I encourage my clients to do this every single day, in what we call a gratitude journal. Each morning when you wake up, simply write five things you are grateful for that day. Before you go to sleep that night, do the same thing!
I know you’re probably thinking, “Okay, Dani… what’s the big deal?”
The big deal is, what you focus on is what you get more of. Which means, you can focus on the hard times, the things that aren’t going your way and the busy-ness of your life… OR you can focus on the abundant blessings in your life! It really is that simple! When you choose to focus on the blessings, you will begin to see many more blessings. It’s so amazing how that works!
So, don’t forget to do your homework and leave your list in the comments! I can’t wait to see what you have to say!

Everyone wants to live a fulfilled life. But if you look around today, you’ll see a world full of people constantly searching for satisfaction…and never quite finding it.
God designed an astounding plan for your life…far greater than anything you could have planned yourself. Sadly, too many people miss all the amazing benefits of His plan, simply because they fight Him for control!
