Are You Always Playing “Spiritual Defense”?
Let’s talk about your heart. When you’ve been hurt, especially by other people, it’s easy to put up a wall inside and try to guard your heart from experiencing that pain ever again.
About every 6 to 8 weeks, we get together with 1000+ of our clients from all over the world, and spend 3 jam-packed days rolling up our sleeves and learning some powerful skills and strategies for every area of life. I always enjoy seeing familiar faces, as well as some beautiful new ones, and we have an amazing time learning together, developing business, finance and relationship skills with the real potential to transform every single person in that room.
It is so incredible to watch people from every age, race, religion, industry, background and walk-of-life learn how to succeed wildly in whatever they do. I’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people walk out those doors to realize their dreams, create unlimited opportunities for themselves, restore their marriages, regain control of their time and dig themselves out of their rut.
Look, I know things are hard for a lot of people right now. I see and hear it all the time. “The economy sucks… I lost my job… My kids are out of control… I think my teenager hates me… My spouse drives me crazy!… There’s just not enough time to do everything I want to do!”
If you’ve said or thought these things, you’re not alone. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping people to get past those hard times.
Truthfully, we live in a world where people have settled for SO much less than they are capable of. They settled for whatever life has handed them. But, YOU do not have to accept the mediocre life everyone else around you is living! Instead, build your own life, create your own opportunities. And a very small percentage of people in the world have done exactly that.
In fact, let me tell you about some of our amazing clients as living, breathing examples.
The Russell family had so many things working against them. In debt and so broke, they could barely put food on the table for their kids. The family ate eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner because they couldn’t afford anything else. Richard was working 16-18 hours a day and rarely saw his family.
Within 90 days of coming to First Steps To Success, income from Denese’s business actually replaced Richard’s paycheck, so he could finally quit his job. They have paid off $83,000 of debt and they went from being flat-broke to making a 6-figure income.
But, here’s what I find so strange… all the time, I hear people talk about how “there are just NO opportunities out there” or they “just can’t find a job” and “it’s just too hard to succeed in this economy.” Total NONSENSE! Opportunity is everywhere! It’s all around you… right now.
Just look at what Richard and Denese have done! HELLO! They could have used every excuse, but they chose to use an opportunity in front of them, to get out of their pit and to succeed beyond what they ever dreamed possible! And not only that, but their teenage children have done phenomenally-amazing things, as well.
Richard and Denese’s daughter, Alyssa, started her first business at 12 years old. Making jewelry for fun since she was 8, Alyssa decided to turn her “hobby” into a business. She created an opportunity, and in her first year made $20,000! While 16.2% of young people aged 16-24 are unemployed, a 12-year-old made $20,000 in one year!
When Alyssa was 14 years old, she even had her jewelry featured at New York Fashion Week! She also runs another successful business with her younger brother, Spencer.
Did the impact of this story hit you? A family who struggled so much they could barely put food on the table, NOW lives a life many people only dream about!
The difference with the Russell family – and so many others – is the Russell family chose to not stay stuck. They chose to take advantage of opportunities in front of them. They did not let their circumstances, their hardships, their limitations, their “lack of opportunity” force them to accept a mediocre life. Instead, they chose to create their own opportunities… and have succeeded wildly.
Whatever challenges you and your family may face today, just know opportunities ARE all around you. Daily, we hear stories from people who were in horrible situations, but with the skills they learned at First Steps To Success, they have been able to create amazing opportunities and mind-blowing success for themselves.
Bottom line: YOU are in control of your own personal economy. YOU are in control of creating your own opportunities. YOU are in control of your future, your success.

So what is wealth, really? What is your personal definition of wealth? So many people live under a grand illusion – and gross misconception – of what they THINK wealth means!
Have you ever felt the sting of rejection? People have said critical words about you, made you feel unaccepted. Then the next thing you know, you begin to reject yourself!
