For those who have never experienced abuse, leaving the abusive relationship and moving on seems obvious. But abuse actually rewires the brain. It trains a person to believe they deserve the abuse. When people are wired and trained to believe that abuse is normal, the tolerance for it becomes very high.
In today’s episode of The Dani Johnson Show, we are talking to domestic abuse survivors about how they overcame the damage abuse causes, what they need from friends and family and how they’ve learned to thrive.
In This Episode You Will Learn:
- How early childhood abuse can actually wire a child to seek out an abusive relationship later.
- What some of the early warning signs of an abuser are, and how to get out before you’re in too deep.
- That no matter what your past circumstances might be, you can step up, rise up and do something great with your life.
