Can Your Finances Withstand Any Storm?
What are you going to do differently this year? What is your plan to raise your personal “grade” in financial knowledge?
I hope you’re having a great day! This message is going to make your day even better!
I hope you’ve got something in your goals to really dominate the job market and grow in your career this year (even if you own the business!). And today, I want to pass this quick tip on to you because I know it will help you do exactly that.
When you are in any kind of meeting, whether it’s 1-on-1 or with a group, with a co-worker, a prospect, or the CEO, it is important to smile!
If you’ve been to First Steps to Success, you’ve heard me talk about this, but you and I cannot be reminded about this enough! Even if you don’t like the person you’re talking to, you must smile.
When you don’t smile, you could be pushing some of the wrong buttons inside of the other person. It doesn’t give you a good reputation. It doesn’t make you look good. It doesn’t make you approachable. And it doesn’t make the other person want to be there with you or listen to you.
The best thing you can do when you are in a presentation, whether you are presenting or being presented to, is to smile.
Again, I don’t care if you like the person or not. I don’t care if there is a tremendous amount of history between you and the other person. Smile anyway!
Here’s another thing to focus on: If something bad happened over the weekend or the day before, do not carry that into work with you. You will look like you are incredibly immature and you will give the appearance of a low level of leadership.
Your performance at work is exactly that – a performance. It’s just like an Olympic gold medalist who is performing for a gold medal, or a professional singer who is singing for the audience. Every day at work is your performance. So you must choose to leave the problems and bad attitudes behind so they don’t affect your performance.
I highly recommend that you create a checklist that you will review every day before you go to work and every time you go into any kind of meeting or presentation. You want to remind yourself of the important things you need to do. And at the top of that list – SMILE!
It’s time to grow up and mature. Smile in every meeting and every presentation. Smile even at the people you don’t like. This is leading with an offensive mindset. Remember, you cannot score on defense, so you’ve got to lead with offense.
Hey, before I sign off for today, I want to remind you to share this message with your co-workers, business partners, family, and friends! This one simple thing can completely transform an office and a home, so you’ll definitely want everyone you know to read this. I can’t wait to read your comments. Let me know how you will take this tip into your workplace today!
Don’t forget to put that smile on today! And until next time, God bless, and I’ll talk to you soon!
In great faith,
What are you going to do differently this year? What is your plan to raise your personal “grade” in financial knowledge?
At 17, my youngest son had a writing assignment for English…and he wrote about “spiritual surrender” – but it astounded me to no end to see so much WISDOM come out of such a YOUNG man and just HAD to share!
