Are You Hiding Behind An Excuse?
It’s never the circumstances in life that determine your success, it’s how you deal with those circumstances.
Today, I want to ask you a question. What do you value? Now wait a minute before you answer and REALLY think about this. I’m not just talking about those things that might immediately pop into your head.
Let’s take a look at that word, “value” and think about what is truly valuable in our lives… what you can’t put a price on. Among the top things on my list would be my faith and my family. I just can’t imagine my life without them in it.
But, today I want us to go beyond this and think about ideas like freedom, honor, integrity, dedication. And today it is most appropriate we discuss these values, which also can sum up the qualities of those who served our country as veterans.
As we honor those who have defended those things we hold most dear and precious on this Veteran’s Day, it seemed like a good time to talk about not only those things we value in our lives but to take a look at how to build lasting value in our world.
Anyone who has ever experienced a tragedy, gone through a personal or professional set-back, has learned that so many things can be taken from us in the blink of an eye. However, some qualities can never be taken from us and those are the things of genuine value! Our human spirit, our memories, our personal sense of ethics, our skillsets represent the most valuable things in our lives.
And, while money and the things it can accomplish are most definitely nice to have in life, if you’ve got those things you can never lose then you have the means to rise above whatever may happen. When I found myself homeless, alone and down to my last $2.03, I still had what I had learned from my business mentors.
After I worked myself into a heart attack and nervous breakdown, I still had my family and my personal values. Those were things that I used to fall back on during those rocky times. And, every day I give thanks not for all the “stuff” all around me, but for those truly valuable things in my life. My unshakeable faith, my precious family, my constant friends, my amazing team at work, my inspiring clients.
Each day, I appreciate what “valuable” really means and strive to continue to build value in my life… and I urge you to do so, too! Take this opportunity on this Veteran’s Day to think not only about the value of their service, but of the value they bring to our lives through their dedication and then take inventory of the things of real value in your life.
When you’ve considered those things, look around and see where you can add value in your life. And don’t forget to show your appreciation for everyone you value! Start by sharing this message with everyone of value in your life, nurture this sense of “true value” via your social media network and then let me know what you value most below!
And, don’t forget the value you can find in our weekly Spiritual Equipping Broadcast on Wednesday night at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT. Please join me via your TV, radio, smartphone or computer!
In great faith,

It’s never the circumstances in life that determine your success, it’s how you deal with those circumstances.
What gives your life value? Is it your relationships, security, money, peaceful environment, your kids? When I first became a millionaire, I completely bought into this crazy over-the-top lifestyle.
Often people make the mistake of being blind to the effects their actions have on others. But every decision you make has a “domino effect.”
