Today’s message is a little different from what I usually share, but my spirit felt this is something you need to hear today.
I have scriptures posted around my house, and they serve as reminders of who God is and His promises for me, my family, our businesses, our clients and the orphans and the poor we care for. I see these reminders throughout the day to keep me on track.
These scriptures have spoken hope and persistence and given me direction in major times of need. When I am down, these scriptures lift me up. When I’m feeling lost or confused, they are a shot in the arm to keep me going. When my head is foggy, these scriptures bring clarity and let in the beautiful sunshine. And even when things are going great and I’m feeling good, they make me feel even better. They encourage me, challenge me and spur me on.
And today, I’m sharing a few of them with you. I know they will bless you the way they bless me every day. I know they will encourage you and give you hope. I strongly encourage you to print out these scriptures and post them all around you: in your house, in your bathroom, in your car, etc. They will keep you focused on the One who is always with you, leading and guiding you. God will speak to you through those scripture reminders.
Replace The World’s Lies With God’s TRUTH!
We all get beat up, torn down and kicked around by
life, and it can be hard to discern the truth from the lies sometimes. Does God
want you to succeed? Is life
supposed to be this hard? Is God really
for me? It’s time to
learn the truth about everything God has for YOU!
Psalm 149:4 “For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.”
I don’t know what kind of childhood you had, but if it was anything like my horrific past (filled with physical, emotional and sexual abuse, drug-addicted parents, teenage pregnancy… the list goes on and on), you long for your Father to take pleasure in you. You long for Him to love and care for you. Even if you had an awesome upbringing, with loving parents raising you in a harmonious atmosphere, you still long to hear this from your heavenly Father.
The Lord takes pleasure in His people! He loves you, He adores you, He is proud of you! You take His breath away! He looks at you and says, “I made him! I made her! That’s one of mine!” I know you may not see yourself that way, but He does!
The second part of that scripture says, “He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.”
Isn’t that what you want when you are afflicted? You want salvation. You want safety, comfort, wholeness. And that’s exactly what this passage promises from Him.
Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.”
This one gets me every time. God is not unjust! He sees the work you do. You may say, “But Dani, I’m not ministering.” Every day you go to work or work within your home, you are ministering. That word simply means to serve. You serve every day, by going to work and building your career and making money for your family. You serve every day by cooking and cleaning and taking care of your kids and home. Every day you work unto the Lord, whether you’re a plumber, an engineer, a stay-at-home parent, a businessman – you are serving the Lord. You ARE ministering to the people around you.
God will not forget the work you do… He is a just God! He sees your work – even when you feel like what you’re doing means nothing or your boss doesn’t see all the work you do. At times, you feel like you are totally insignificant. I’ve been there! But this scripture assures us God does see our work. He adds purpose to our work. When we work for Him, we work with excellence and diligence, and we are satisfied. We work for Him and He rewards us!
Psalm 91:11-16 11 “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. 12 They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down. 14 ‘Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. 15 He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16 With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.'”
Look at the promise here! His angels will guard you in everything you do! As you tread upon the lion and cobra, because you love Him, He will deliver you! Because you know His name, He will secure you on high. Because you call upon Him, He will answer you. He will rescue you and honor you. He will satisfy you with long life and you will see His salvation.
This passage reminds you to call upon God when you’re in trouble and need protection. It’s reminds you to run toward God for honor and satisfaction and salvation.
Whether you’re having a fantastic day or a horrible day, allow this scripture to speak hope, peace, protection and truth over you.
I hope these passages bless you in the same way they bless me daily. Like I said earlier, I really encourage you to print these out and post them where you will see them every single day. It is so important to have messages like this in front of you, to remind you of the promises of God – for yourself, your family, your business, your career, your relationships and every area of your life.
I also want you to take a few minutes to share this with at least 5 people you know who need to hear this message today… someone who needs encouragement, someone who is down and needs uplifting? It takes only a few seconds, but it can have a huge impact on someone’s life today.
