The Basics Behind The Tithe
I want to talk about something that constantly baffles me in the spiritual community.
When I was 21, I was broke and homeless. I was living in my car, showering in public bathrooms and working as a cocktail waitress. My ex-husband, who I had only known for 7 days before we got married, left me with $2.03 to my name and a $35,000 debt.
On Christmas Day, I had a very powerful defining moment that caused me to take a good, hard look at my life. I realized it was going to take months for me to get into an apartment with the income I made from my waitressing job. And, at the rate I was going, I’d never be able to pay off that debt.
Looking at my situation, I asked myself, “What will I do with my life? What can I do to change my financial situation?” I thought for a moment and then answered myself: “Girl, you got yourself into this mess. It’s time to get yourself out!”
Then I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a box of weight-loss products just sitting in my back seat. I purchased them right before my husband left. I had only used them for a few days before I made some lame excuse not to follow through with the product.
Suddenly I got a sinking feeling as I realized what I needed to do. I said to myself, “Oh, heck no! I am NOT going to become one of those peddlers of some stupid weight-loss product.” But this sick feeling lingered… I was going to have to do something I really did not want to do. This was the answer to my problem, but I sure didn’t like it.
I was desperate and did not want to be homeless for another day. I needed to change my life, and it had to happen now. I couldn’t afford to spend a year looking for the “right” business or opportunity. I couldn’t keep waiting for money to somehow show up in my bank account. I had to make a decision to get out of that pathetic place in my life.
And you’ll never guess what happened when I made that decision! Using the weight-loss product right in front of me, I started a business, and made $2,000 within the first 4 days. I moved into an apartment less than 2 weeks later! By the end of that year, I made $250,000. By the end of my second year, I made my first million.
But I want you to think about what would have happened if I had not chosen to take advantage of the opportunity I had right in front of me. If I had ignored that box of weight-loss products in the back seat of my car, I have no idea where I would be today! I am so glad I was desperate and didn’t have time to be picky or find the “right” business opportunity. I did what was in front of me, and worked with excellence and diligence. It was clearly worth it!
In truth, the road to success is often paved with things you don’t want to do. In order to reach your goal, whether it’s to pay off your debt, build a successful business, feed orphans all over the world, receive a promotion in your job or raise great kids, there will be things you don’t want to do. But, you have to weigh your ego against your bank account and figure out which weighs more. Which is worth more to you?
When I weighed my ego against my bank account, I realized it was more important for me to do what I didn’t want to do, to get the results I wanted. Increasing my bank account was more important to me than my ego.
Today, I want you to evaluate your current situation. What will it take for you to reach your goal? What is something, you really don’t want to do, keeping you from your goal? DO IT ANYWAY!!! Don’t settle for your current circumstances. Step up and do what you need to do to overcome them! (Don’t forget you can save $10 on “Unlimited Success” with code US1022 today!)

The education of your children is your responsibility… from kindergarten to 12th grade! But there are many school board standards, as well as a cultural change, that have taken place over the past few decades.
Regardless of what you do, you are constantly “pitching” something…which, believe it or not, means you’re in SALES! But let me tell you a secret: most people choke when it comes to “the close” and today we’re giving the secret weapon!
